A masterful course created to take advantage of as much of the long tree lined promenades in this beautiful and historic park. There is no place better for a footrace that brings together the international community that represents Queens and those coming from afar for the annual United Nations convening. Imagine, you start at the Kennedy Circle, in front of the Fountain of the Continents and the famous Unisphere, race down the Avenue of Africa, across the United Nations Avenue, onto the Avenue of Asia and then the Path of Peace and onto the Meadow Lake Bridge that give you a breathtaking view of NYC. You pass the manicured lawns on Ederle Circle and onto the promenade, pass by the worn cricket fields teaming with players from near and afar, back over the bridge. Finally, you’ll run onto the tree lined Avenue of the Americas and Path of Commerce, passing the fountain of the planets and turn onto Herbert Hoover Promenade where you’ll see soccer teams of all ages and from everywhere ferociously competing in their morning matches. You cross in front of the glorious symbol of strength and hope, the Rocket Thrower, where you’ll need to flex, because you are not going home without a picture with this in the background. Imagine all of this and runners from all of the world in the most diverse community in the country. The half marathon is four loops of this on a 3.27 mile course. The 10K is two loops of this on a 3.1 mile course. The 5K is one loop on a 3.1 mile course. Three support stations to keep you energized and refreshed are placed at every mile and there are portable and public restrooms at multiple locations. Join us and everyone else to make this happen!!!
