NYC LIVES HALF, 10K, 5K
DIRECTIONS
Parachute Jump
THE COURSE
All athletes START next to the Parachute Jum and line up behind the arches.
HALF Marathon runners begin by going towards the boardwalk, turning right (west) and following the boardwalk for approximately .1 miles to a U-TURN marker. You turn around at the U-Turn by crossing the boardwalk to the beachside and running back towards the start (east). You follow the boardwalk for approximately 1.5 miles to the end. At the end of the boardwalk, you turn around and return by running on the street side of the boardwalk. When you get close to the start location you will be directed to turn right
immediately before the carousel, go down the slope and around the carousel. When you are behind the carousel you will come to a fork in the path. Follow the path to the LEFT for your first three loops and follow the path to the RIGHT when you are finish. The entire course requires that you complete a 3.27-mile loop four times.
10K and 5K athletes will run a slightly different course than the half marathon athletes. You will START next to the Parachute Jump and line up behind the arches. At the start you run towards the boardwalk, turn left (east) and follow the boardwalk, running on the beachside, to the end. At the end turn around and return on
the street side of the boardwalk. When you get close to the start/finish location you will be directed to your right (towards the street) immediately before the carousel. Go down the slope and around the carousel. When you are behind the carousel you will come to a fork in the path. 5K athletes follow the path to the RIGHT to the finish line. 10K athletes follow the path to the LEFT for the first loop and follow the path to the RIGHT after the second loop and across the START/FINISH line. 5K athletes run 1 loop. 10K athletes run 2 loops.
Support stations with water, Gatorade, and HUMA power gels will be located at TWO POINTS on the course. You will access these 2 times for every loop. We suggest that you bring your own nutrition and water if you want to limit your contact. When you take a beverage or gel from the support station, please exit the area immediately so that other participants can access the space. Leave the paper cups and gel packs in the trash
receptacles. We will disqualify anyone who discards their garbage onto the boardwalk.
TIMING
Electronic timing and split per loop will be uploaded LIVE ( click here) allowing your friends at home or at the finish to track your time per loop.
You must arrive on time and start within 2-3 minutes of your wave start. Your final time will be calculated from the time you cross the timing matt for the start and finish. However, if you arrive late we cannot adjust your time especially if that affects the awards ceremony.
