START & FINISH @ Parachute Jump
COURSE: HALF COURSE NOW A 10 MILER LINK
You will START next to the Parachute Jump, lined up behind the arches and standing on yellow place markers. At the start you run towards the boardwalk, turn right (west) and follow the boardwalk for approximately .1 miles to a U-TURN marker. You turn around at the U Turn by crossing the boardwalk to the beachside and running back towards the start (east). You follow the boardwalk for approximately 1.5 miles to the end. At the end of the boardwalk, you turn around and return by running on the street side of the boardwalk. When you get close to the start location you will be directed to turn right immediately before the carousel, go down the slope and around the carousel. You cross the START/FINISH line and follow the same course for three additional loops. The entire course requires that you complete the 3.27-mile loop FOUR times.
10K COURSE LINK
The 10K and 5K athletes will run a slightly different course than the half marathon athletes. You will START next to the Parachute Jump, lined up behind the arches and standing on yellow place markers. At the start you run towards the boardwalk, turn left (east) and follow the boardwalk, running on the beachside, to the end. At the end turn around and return on the street side of the boardwalk. When you get close to the start/finish location you will be directed to your right (towards the street) immediately before the carousel. Go down the slope and around the carousel. You cross the START/FINISH line. If you are running the 5K you are done. If you are running the 10K you complete the same course for a second loop.
Support stations with water, Gatorade, and HUMA power gels will be located at TWO POINTS on the course. You will access these 8 times, thus providing you with support approximately every 1.5 miles. We suggest that you bring your own nutrition and water to limit your contact. Even so, our beverages and gels will have been sanitized and left at the support station for you to take. We will not hand these to you. The beverages will be in capped plastic bottles that you must discard appropriately. When you take a beverage or gel from the support station, please exit the area immediately so that other participants can access the space. So, don’t try to open your beverage or gel at the support station. Instead, go to a space that is more than 6 feet ahead of the station and then open the beverage and/or gel. Water tables will be placed at three locations on the loop providing you with 12 opportunities to pick up electrolyte drinks, water, and HUMA sports gels. Each will have music to keep you going.
